The odds dropped before I could place the bet. Should I still take it?

Only if it still has value at the new price. The old EV stops being valid the moment the odds change.
Enter the new odds in the ValueBet Calculator, compare them with the fair odds and check the updated EV and suggested stake. Place the bet only if the EV is still positive and the stake is accepted.
Example: fair odds +100, the tool showed +120, the sportsbook now shows +105. There may still be some value, but less. If you do place it, record the odds you actually got in the Bet Tracker.
