Free Bet without BackBet

Hopefully, this question is allowed, just asking for my knowledge. If there is an offer of a Deposit match that doesn't involve betting the deposit would it be ok, allowed, or smart play to just play the free bet without the back bet? Granted if my free bet does not win I do not win anything but I still have my Deposit that I can withdrawal. Technically I still come out on top. Just looking for someone to pop holes into this thought process.

@eenochs this wouldn't be ok with the bookmaker. A bettor would also bet the deposited amount, as expected. The best approach is always to bet the deposit and the freebet. By doing Matched Betting, you will end up with a profit as well.
